Srinagar – Kargil – Leh Itinerary: Srinagar 1NT + Kargil 1NT + Leh 3NT + Nubra Valley 2NT + Pangong Tso 1NT

Day 1: Arrival in Srinagar and Half Day Local Sightseeing

Upon your arrival at Srinagar Airport, you will be greeted and transferred to your hotel. Take some time to rest and refresh after your journey. In the afternoon, embark on a half-day local sightseeing tour to explore the beauty of Srinagar. Visit the famous Dal Lake, where you can take a shikara (boat) ride and enjoy the serene views. Visit Mughal Gardens, including Shalimar BaghNishat Bagh, and Chashme Shahi, each known for their lush greenery and impressive Mughal architecture. The day concludes with a visit to the Shankaracharya Temple, which offers panoramic views of the city and the Dal Lake. Return to your hotel for an overnight stay in Srinagar.

Day 2: Drive from Srinagar to Kargil via Zojila Pass and Drass War Memorial

After breakfast, start your journey towards Kargil, a scenic drive through the rugged terrain of the Zojila Pass, one of the highest mountain passes in India. Along the way, stop at the Drass War Memorial to pay tribute to the soldiers who fought in the Kargil War. The views of the surrounding mountains and the memorial itself are both somber and inspiring. You will continue the drive through beautiful valleys and rocky landscapes, reaching Kargil in the evening. Overnight stay in Kargil.

Day 3: Drive from Kargil to Leh via Lamayuru, Sangam, and Magnetic Hill

Post breakfast, embark on the journey to Leh, passing through the captivating landscapes of Lamayuru Monastery, one of the oldest and most famous monasteries in Ladakh. Here, you will also witness the unique “moonland” terrain, which looks like the surface of the moon. Continue towards the Sangam point, where the Zanskar River meets the Indus River, forming a beautiful confluence. A little further, stop at the famous Magnetic Hill, where you can witness the fascinating phenomenon where vehicles appear to move uphill against gravity. After these attractions, you’ll reach Leh in the evening. Overnight stay in Leh.

Day 4: Local Sightseeing in Leh – Shey, Thiksey, Shanti Stupa, and Hall of Fame

After breakfast, start your sightseeing tour around Leh. Begin with a visit to Shey Palace, a former royal residence with beautiful architecture and views over the Indus Valley. Proceed to Thiksey Monastery, a striking structure similar to the Potala Palace of Tibet, with several temples and shrines. Afterward, head to the Shanti Stupa, a white-domed stupa that offers panoramic views of Leh and the surrounding mountains. Lastly, visit the Hall of Fame, a museum dedicated to the soldiers who fought in the Kargil War, with informative exhibits about the region’s military history. Return to your hotel for an overnight stay in Leh.

Day 5: Leh to Nubra Valley (Hunder) via Khardung La Pass and Deskit Monastery

In the morning, drive from Leh to Nubra Valley, a stunning desert oasis known for its sand dunes, picturesque landscapes, and monasteries. The drive takes you over Khardung La Pass, one of the highest motorable passes in the world, offering stunning views of the surrounding mountains. Once in Nubra Valley, visit the Deskit Monastery, which offers magnificent views of the valley. In the afternoon, explore the famous Hunder Sand Dunes, where you can ride a Bactrian camel (double-humped camel) amidst the dunes. Overnight stay at a camp or hotel in Hunder.

Day 6: Day Trip to Turtuk and Back to Hunder

Today, enjoy a day trip to the remote village of Turtuk, located near the Indo-Pakistani border and once part of Pakistan-administered Kashmir before the 1971 war. Turtuk is a beautiful village, surrounded by lush green fields and towering mountains, offering an authentic Ladakhi experience. Explore the local culture, visit the Turtuk Monastery, and enjoy the breathtaking natural beauty. Afterward, return to Hunder for an overnight stay.

Day 7: Nubra Valley to Pangong Lake via Shayok Route

After an early breakfast, start your drive from Nubra Valley to Pangong Lake via the scenic Shayok Route. The journey offers magnificent views of the stark landscape, high-altitude terrain, and vast stretches of barren land. The deep blue waters of Pangong Lake will captivate you as you arrive at this stunning spot, which is famous for its changing colors and serene atmosphere. You can enjoy a peaceful day by the lake, taking in the picturesque surroundings. Overnight stay at a camp near Pangong Lake.

Day 8: Pangong Lake to Leh via Changla Pass

After breakfast, depart from Pangong Lake and head towards Leh via Changla Pass, one of the highest motorable passes in the world. As you descend, enjoy views of the surrounding barren mountains and the valley. Upon arrival in Leh, check into your hotel and relax. Spend the evening at leisure, perhaps exploring the Leh market or just unwinding after the adventurous journey. Overnight stay in Leh.

Day 9: Fly Out from Leh

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Leh Airport for your onward flight. End your remarkable journey filled with memories of the stunning landscapes and unique cultural experiences of Ladakh.

  • In case of unforeseen weather conditions or government restrictions, certain activities may be cancelled and in such cases the operator will try his best to provide an alternate feasible activity. However, no refund will be provided for the same.
  • If cancellations are made ptrio to 45 days before the start date of the trip, Rs. 1000/- per person will be charged as cancellation fees.
  • If cancellations are made 45 days before the start date of the trip, 25% of Tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
  • If cancellations are made between 44 and 31 days before the start date of the trip, 40% of Tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
  • If cancellations are made between 30 and 15 days before the start date of the trip, 50% of Tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
  • If cancellations are made between 14 and 7 days before the start date of the trip, 75% of Tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
  • If cancellations are made within a week or in case of No Show, 100% of Tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
